Even the government is concerned about errors in credit reports and the effects they can have on customers.

5 percent of consumers had errors on one of their three major credit reports, according to a study conducted by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) on the U.S. credit reporting industry. They might have to pay more for important things like auto loans and insurance because of these mistakes.

The investigation additionally discovered that: • One in four consumers discovered errors on their credit reports that could have an impact on their credit scores • One in five consumers had an error that was corrected by a credit reporting agency after it was disputed, on at least one of their three credit reports • Four out of five consumers who filed disputes experienced some modification to their credit report • A little more than one in ten consumers saw a change in their credit score after the credit reporting agency modified errors on their credit report • About one in 20 consumers had a maximum score change of more than 25

These mistakes can be very hard to fix, and the problems caused by them can get even worse. In addition to not being able to get the loan they need for a new car, your client may also be receiving harassing phone calls from creditors.

Uninstalling these apps can make people really see and notice their urge to constantly check notifications, but they’ll still know that life is so much more meaningful without them.
